Learn a little more about my goals when elected as commissioner
I have always been interested in the political process since my first mock election in 2004 in first grade learning about the political system intrigued me and started a lifelong interest. I learned at a young age from the independents in my family that you don't need to belong to a political party and that independents are some of the few politicians that are truthfully speaking their own beliefs without influence from others within the current two-party system.

Here is a bulleted list with some topics I fully intend to tackle when elected as Commissioner:
-
Emergency Preparedness: A large issue many of us experienced firsthand was the lack of countywide emergency preparedness in December 2023. We, the people, were left in the dark—some of us for 6+ days—forced to combat freezing pipes, flooding basements, and deal with the aftermath of a 100-year flood. There was little to no advanced directive for citizens. Oxford County has an Emergency Management Agency, what can we do to aid and assist them. This is not an attack on any person(s) in particular. I want to see Oxford County EMA become a stronger resource for our municipalities and residents in preparing for these all-too-frequent natural disasters. This includes being more engaged with the general public through frequent social media postings, mobile emergency alerts, a refreshed web presence, and requesting assistance from other state agencies.
-
Supporting Volunteer-Led Outdoor Clubs/Groups: Oxford County should stand as a proud supporter and strong ally for our many volunteer-led outdoor clubs and groups, including snowmobile, ATV, and fish & game clubs.
-
Funding for the Oxford County Jail: I will explore federal and state funding options for the Oxford County Jail to ensure that it receives the maximum amount of funding possible. It’s crucial that both inmates and our staff are properly cared for.
-
Affordable Housing: A crisis very much present here in Oxford County is the lack of affordable housing options. What federal incentives and grant opportunities are out there? I want to dive deep into this issue and see what Oxford County can do to help young people who are struggling to start a life of their own here in our beautiful county.
-
Infrastructure: It is important that we, as a county, stand tall and proudly support well-maintained infrastructure within our unorganized territories. But what more can Oxford County do with federal and state funding to aid and assist all communities within our county?
